Our food and beverage industry client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team! The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and partnering with operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Maintain general ledger across multiple entities
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, accruals, prepaids)
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and file WA Excise and Seattle B&O tax returns
- Process invoices and payments using Bill.com or similar systems
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Manage 1099 filings
- Perform cash reconciliations and deposit tracking
- Reconcile POS systems (e.g., CTUIT, Toast) to the general ledger
- Apply customer payments and manage AR aging
- Investigate and resolve variances
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting
- Assist with variance analysis
- Support process improvements and reporting accuracy
What the successful Staff Accountant will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (multi-entity or restaurant experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Dynamics)
- Familiarity with Bill.com and POS systems is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- CPA preferred (not required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Compensation Range:
- $36.00 to $43.00 per hour, DOE
